What is U-Vision

Your Voice in HKU
U-Vision is YOUR voice around the University of Hong Kong. The U-Vision TV monitors located around campus give all HKU members a platform to share information about upcoming events and activities. We allow you to get your message out there without the hassle of printing and posting.

Introduction

'U-Vision' was launched on March 8th, 2010 at the University of Hong Kong and consists of a network of digital bulletin boards which broadcast information across campus. Using wall-mounted TV monitors installed at selective locations around HKU, the U-Vision channel displays visual information on university activities and events, as well as real-time news.

The Need For U-Vision

U-Vision is instrumental in assisting both the HKU community and the public to be efficiently informed about our university activities. Everyone can catch up on the latest HKU happenings and university members can contribute content to share with others at no cost. As a result, better engagement with the university and a stronger community is fostered.

U-Vision Objective

U-Vision is a mechanism to help build team spirit and foster HKU image through sharing selected information and promoting selected university events to the public.

Faculty, Staff, and Student Involvement

Your contribution to U-Vision is ESSENTIAL! We need faculties/departments, staff and student associations to share content on the HKU community. Input can be in the form of videos, posters, static images or scrolling text. Once uploaded to your U-Vision account, we can begin to spread your message.

Multimedia Approach

U-Vision displays videos, static images, and scrolling text.
The U-Vision Video Composer service has been retired. HKU staff and students are eligible to use TechSmith Camtasia with site license for offline video editing. More details in ITS website: https://moodle-support.hku.hk/camtasia-site-license-staff-and-students
