Contemporary China Research Cluster Public Lecture: Detecting Social Desirability in Public Opinion Surveys in China (November 17, 4:30pm)

Social desirability is a serious problem that distorts the results of face-to-face public opinion surveys. In this lecture, Professor Tang will introduce the method of survey experiment and show how social desirability in China can be successfully detected, and how a weighting technique can be developed to correct the social desirability effect.
