'Narrative Courtyardism' by Weijen Wang

'Narrative Courtyardism' by Weijen Wang

Narrative Courtyardism evolves from my recent venture of a series of village projects in Zhejiang. It describes the condition of how building typology becomes a vehicle facilitating events and spaces for a place. Starting from restoring a courtyard house for a villager, the project continues building a tea-house pavilion next to the house, an exhibition room and an outdoor theater behind, the assembly hall for the next village.
